STANDARD FIRST AID RECERTIFICATION
This 8 hour course is an option for people in possession of a
current, valid Standard First Aid Certificate who wish to "challenge" the course
content. You will be required to demonstrate your skills and knowledge without
assistance or new training from the instructor. Early registration is required
as you must pre-read lessons from the Student Reference Guide and instructor
booking arrangements must occur well in advance of your current Certificate
expiry date.
Your decision to "recertify" means we will be testing you and
not teaching you the course material. New protocols for CPR came into effect in
2007 and there are extra topics not covered in your original class if taken
prior to fall of 2007. The CPR training is "Adult" level.
Upon successful completion of the practical skills evaluation
and the written exam, a St John Ambulance National Certificate for Standard
First Aid Recertification will be issued and is valid for three (3) years. This
Recertification option is available on "every other" renewal.
Applicable OH&S Legislation:
- Code: Part 7 Emergency Preparedness and Response
- Code: Part 11 First Aid
- Code: Schedule 2 First Aid
