SKID STEER SAFETY TRAINING
The purpose of this course is to educate people who perform skid steer
operations on the rules, legislation and proper application of safe work
practices and operating procedures involved in day-to-day activities. It is
designed for individuals who have a basic understanding of, or who are actively
involved in these activities.
Upon successful completion of this course, the operator will:

Be able to explain the handling characteristics
of the skid steer and different components and attachments either loaded or
empty.
·
Be able to explain reasons for maintaining
up-to-date maintenance records, and why proper maintenance is important for
safe, efficient and productive operation.
·
Identify the controls and their purpose, and
demonstrate the proper use of these controls.
·
Identify machine components and their functions.
·
Explain skid steer equipment safety features and
their importance.
·
Be able to describe safeguarding of work areas
and control measures.
Operators are evaluated by written exam and practical skill level exercises.
This course is intended to inform and improve operator skill levels and does
not certify operators as highly skilled nor licensed operators. A training
course certificate, describing the specific machine trained on, will be awarded
upon successful completion of this program.
